Will he, won’t he?

The story so far had been that News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch wants to take over the world’s biggest – and most prestigiousNews Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch – business daily, The Wall Street Journal, which is part of Dow Jones & Co. The problem? The Bancrofts family owns controlling share in the company, who were not keen on the offer. But recently, Murdoch met – for the first time – members of the Bancroft family, for five long hours in New York. And according to reports,Murdoch claimed that the meeting turned out to be constructive, wherein he promised the Bancrofts that he would create “an independent, autonomous editorial board” for Wall Street Journal. Will that assurance be good enough for the Bancrofts family? We’ll have to wait and watch – watch this space anyway!
